Illegal parking control
Definition
An “Illegal stop/ parking” violation occurs if a car stays immobile in a “No stop/ parking area” for longer than a permissible limit.
Steps to set up illegal stop/ parking control
- Build a road object, which might not be a crossroads for this violation type but a linear road segment or a square or any other (e.g., its name is "Times Square”).
- Bind cameras to it.
- Name the violation.
- Build the “No stop/parking” area in CarTrack Pro settings on the camera meant to monitor that area.
- Link the violation name (step 3) to the “No stop/ parking” area (step 4).
- Turn on illegal stop/ parking control.
- Review the results.
Bind cameras to road object
Detection of an illegal stop/ parking requires cameras that monitor the no stop/ parking area. It must have CarTrack Pro enabled.
- On the Road objects page in the settings, click as shown ...
- Set the camera filter to All to run Bind to road object on the camera intended to monitor the no stop/ parking area. A window with the same name will open.
- Check the Illegal stops/ parkings under Camera type.
- Enter the camera label, which will appear wherever it is relevant to this kind of violation.
- Select a color for the camera icon on the road object diagram.
- Click Bind.
- Drag and drop the camera icon on the road object diagram to place it where it is physically located.
- Redraw the camera’s field of view on the diagram to represent it realistically.
- Optionally, bind an overview camera in the same way, which, however, can be combined as one.
... to open the road object screen.
Choose a self-explanatory label, for example, “Parking control at Times Square”.

On the Violation name page in the settings, click the “+” to open a window and:
- Set Violation type to “Illegal stops/ parking”.
