Violation Names

Add a Violation Name

Violation names are chosen in Violation rules and appear on traffic violation events.

To add a violation name:

  1. In the User Menu, go to Settings > Violation names. The Violation names list opens.
  2. Click + to open the Create new Violation name window.

Create new Violation name window with Violation name, Description, Priority set to Normal, and Violation type set to Opposite lane

  3. Set the following:
    • Violation name: enter a name, such as No left turn or Red light.
    • Description: add a description, if needed.
    • Violation type: select the type. Each type can have more than one name.
    • Priority: select Low, Normal, High, or Critical.
  4. Click Save.

The name appears in the list and can be selected in Violation rules.

Manage Violation Names

On the Violation names page, each name can be edited or deleted.

In the Edit Violation name window, Violation name and Priority can be changed. After a rename, new events use the new name. Events already captured keep the previous name.

What happens when a name is deleted depends on the violation type:

  • Stop line: if the name is set on a road object with control turned on, new events use the violation type as the name and Low as the priority. Events already captured keep their name and priority.
  • Opposite lane: if the name is used in an Opposite lane / Overtaking rule, that rule is deleted. The platform stops capturing Opposite lane and Overtaking violations for that rule.
  • Overtaking: if the name is used in a rule, the rule stays, and Record Overtaking violations is turned off. The platform keeps capturing Opposite lane violations for that rule.
  • For these types, deleting a name that is used in Violation rules stops the platform from capturing that violation:
    • Forbidden maneuvers
    • Traffic lights violation
    • Driving without technical allowance
    • Driving without insurance
    • Space mean speed above limit
    • Illegal stops / parkings
    • Failure to yield to pedestrian
    • Railroad crossing lights violation
    • Lane restriction violation
